By irradiating the tattoo with a laser, the pigment is broken down into small particles. The finely broken pigment is excreted over time through skin turnover. The pigment does not disappear immediately after laser irradiation, and the effects of the first irradiation will become apparent about one month after surgery. After the skin in the irradiated area has recovered, the next irradiation will be performed. (This is a treatment that requires multiple sessions.)
